at Calgary Indian Motorcycle May 29th 2010 Demo Days....... Ronald McDonald showed up but, No Riding due to SNOW
Even with snow in the morning, hail n rain in the afternoon, people showed up with vehicles to enjoy the pre-reserved stay at Rafter Six shortly after 4pm on May 29 2010...............27 brave souls in all..............one rider, Raincloud, rode his trusty black 2003 Indian to Calgary from Grand Prairie, his lovely wife following behind in Bruce the F 350 Diesel.  (I'm sure they  must have negotiated safe passage with Mother Nature using their first born.)
Rafter Six Ranch, May 30, 2010 after a great buffet style hot breakfast about 20 of us decided to go for a ride on one of the "one horse" horses in the coral.........these horses were taller then they looked and some needed to use the stump to climb in the saddle............
finding neutral was surprisingly easy, getting them to shift and not fuel up while riding was another story........with the terrain being mountainous and so wet one of the horses slipped when negotiating it's way down a hill sending it's rider plummeting to the ground.  Perhaps not such a good idea in this weather as our injured rider suffered 2 cracked ribs, a fractured ankle and multiple bruising from head to toe. Prayers for a speedy recovery.
June 6 2010  met at Drifters Fuel Stop in Calgary for breakfast and off  to Okotoks, Nanton, Longview and back to Calgary.  A great day to be out on your motorcycle.............sorry my camera is feeling a bit blue, I think it's time to retire this one, so I'm now on the hunt for a new one.
Canada Day 2010 long weekend.Calgary-Ferni-Cresten-Nelson-NaKusp-Slocan-Revelstoke-Golden- Banff-Calgary. Spent the first night in Cresten BC, woke to rain for our ride through the twisties to the Ferry and over to Nelsen.
It was good to enjoy some hot coffee as we waited for the ferry to across Kootenay Lake.  The sun started to show her face as we got closer to Nelsen.  Spent the night in Nelson took advantage of the fan in hotel to dry out the boots and gloves.  Said good bye to our friends that night and took off before the birds were up. No rain, but kept rain gear on for warmth, had Breakfast in Slocan, through the misty mountains to NaKusp, a short ferry ride and back on the bikes,
rode through Rogers Pass....burrrrrrrrr it was cold. Had a late lunch in Revelstoke,  Dinner in Golden ride through Banff National Park and home to Calgary by 8:30pm
July 18 2010 Charlie Bates sent out an invitation to all Alberta Iron Indian Riders to meet at Glenn's for Brunch and then off to mystery location to take some pic's.  Seven Indians and 2 Harleys took off from Calgary, we met up with 2 more Indian Chief and a Harley on our way up to Red Deed.  Raincloud from Grand Prairie (had to come through some rain) and Richard from Jasper arrived shortly afterwords. Charlie Bates was in Glenn's holding tables as the rest of the guys milled around the bikes asking questions where did you get that..... how did you fix that....Robert came out to gather us up and heard us into Glenn's for brunch.  Blue Diesel, After Four and Cathy arrived a bit late (they had to ride through some rain and were quite drenched upon arrival)  After brunch Charlie Bates with Hilary on the back of his Chief lead our posy of 17 Alberta Iron Indian Riders to circle around the Harley Dealership in Red Deer ( now that's a sight you don't see everyday........ Indians circling the Harley Dealership) then on to our mystery destination.....the  Prairie City Garage for a great photo session.  We pulled up in front,  got off the bikes, and the cameras were flashing.  After some pic's we decided to line up better, with some guidance from Carlie Bates and After Four Rick we had them looking real nice, next of course ..... more pics (some even got down at ground level ).  We had a line up of 14 Indians..........It's rumored there are 33 Indian motorcycles registered in Alberta, 6 Indians we know of could not make it today.  After some more horsing around we were back on the bikes to ride out to the Monkey Top Bar in Bently. Jim, Curt and the 2 young boys didn't come instead they headed back to Calgary. In Bently, we once again said our good byes and thanked Charlie Bates for a good ride.  The Calgary bunch fueled up in Bently, ran into some rain shortly after Red Deer, Kelvin was the first to depart off to Didsburry, Jim and Lorraine were next to Airdrie, Dan to Chestemere, at perimeter Rick and Kim pulled off to wait for Robert and were off to Okotoks.  Everyone had a great time thanks again Carlie Bates for putting this together.
July 25th 2010
Buckshot cooked breakfast for thoes who could make it to Calgary and lead us for an afternoon ride.  We took the back roads to Okotoks, east over rolling hills to a one way wooden bridge, passed fields of canola, flax and wheat  to Carseland, back up to Chestemere, a quick visit at Dan's place and back home to Calgary
